By accessing or using Default Privacy ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree to these terms, please don't use our Service.
These terms apply to all visitors, users, and customers of Default Privacy, including users of our free tools and paid services.
2. Description of Services
Default Privacy provides privacy infrastructure services including:
Free Tools
- Browser Exposure Check — Shows what your browser reveals to websites
- Privacy Scanner — Website privacy analysis tool
- Privacy Tools Directory — Curated database of 770+ privacy tools
- Email Security Checker — Analyzes domain email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- WHOIS Privacy Check — Checks domain registration privacy
- DNS Leak Test — Detects DNS resolver leaks
- Password Strength Analyzer — Client-side password strength evaluation
- Metadata Stripper — Removes EXIF and metadata from uploaded files
- Threat Model Builder — Interactive privacy threat assessment questionnaire
Assessment Services
- Privacy Audit — Comprehensive privacy assessment combining website scan, email security, WHOIS, breach database, browser exposure, and threat model analysis with an AI-generated executive summary
Paid Services
- Anonymous LLC Formation — Wyoming LLC formation services (Protect)
- Digital Erasure — Data broker removal services (Erase)
3. Acceptable Use
You MAY:
- • Use our free tools for personal privacy assessment
- • Purchase and use our paid services as described
- • Share results from our tools (they're yours)
- • Access our services via VPN, Tor, or other privacy tools
- • Request deletion of your data at any time
You MAY NOT:
- • Use our services for illegal activities
- • Abuse our free tools (excessive automated requests)
- • Attempt to hack, breach, or disrupt our services
- • Use our LLC formation for fraud or illegal purposes
- • Misrepresent your identity when purchasing services
- • Resell our services without authorization
4. Paid Services
4.1 LLC Formation (Protect)
- We facilitate anonymous LLC formation through licensed registered agents in all 50 states, DC, and Puerto Rico
- We specialize in privacy-friendly states: Wyoming, New Mexico, and Delaware
- Formation timelines are estimates, not guarantees (typically 24 hours filing + 2-5 business days state processing)
- You must provide accurate information as required by the relevant state's laws
- Annual state fees vary by state and are separate from our service fees
- We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice
4.2 Digital Erasure (Erase)
- We submit removal requests to data brokers on your behalf
- Removal success depends on data broker compliance (most comply within 30-45 days)
- Some information may reappear if you continue using services that sell data
- We provide ongoing monitoring for subscribers, not one-time purchases
4.3 Payment Terms
- Payments are processed by Stripe (we never see your full card number)
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
- Refunds are available within 30 days if services haven't been initiated
- Once LLC formation or erasure requests begin, refunds are prorated
5. Free Tools
Our free tools (Browser Exposure Check, Scanner, Tools Directory, Email Security, WHOIS, DNS Leak Test, Password Check, Metadata Stripper, Threat Model) are provided at no cost with the following terms:
- Free tools may have usage limits to prevent abuse
- We may modify or discontinue free tools at any time
- Free tools are provided "as is" without warranty
- Results are for informational purposes and not professional advice
5.1 Privacy Audit
- Audit results are stored for 72 hours, then automatically and permanently deleted
- Shareable permalink URLs allow anyone with the link to view your audit results until they expire
- You are responsible for who you share your audit link with
- Audit grades and scores are algorithmic assessments, not professional security audits
- We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of breach data, which is sourced from third-party databases
5.2 Authentication
- Accounts can be created via email magic link or DERO wallet authentication
- Email magic links expire after 15 minutes
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your email account or DERO wallet
- We are not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from compromised email accounts or wallets
6. Privacy & Data
Your privacy is fundamental to our service. Our data practices are governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.
Key points: We collect minimal data, never sell your information, and you can request deletion at any time.
7. Disclaimers & Limitations
Important Disclaimers
- • Services are provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind
- • We don't guarantee 100% removal from all data brokers
- • We're not responsible for actions of third parties (data brokers, state agencies)
- • LLC formation provides privacy, not immunity from legal obligations
- • Our liability is limited to the amount you've paid us
We are not a law firm, accounting firm, or licensed privacy consultant. Our services are educational and administrative in nature. For legal, tax, or compliance advice, please consult appropriate professionals.
8. Termination
8.1 By You
You can terminate your account at any time by contacting us. For paid services, cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
8.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in illegal activities, or abuse our services. We'll provide notice when possible.
9. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be announced via email (for registered users) or notice on our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Wyoming.
