What is Privacy Screen Protector?
A physical screen filter that narrows the viewing angle of a display, preventing shoulder surfing and visual eavesdropping.
Privacy screen protectors are the simplest physical privacy tool — they make your screen invisible from side angles.
How They Work
- Micro-louver technology blocks light at wide angles
- Screen appears black when viewed from the side (typically >30 degrees)
- Person directly in front sees the screen normally (slightly dimmer)
When to Use
- Working in cafes, airports, or coworking spaces
- Using your phone on public transport
- Offices with open floor plans
- Anywhere sensitive information is displayed in public
Limitations
- Reduces screen brightness by 30-50%
- Slightly reduces image clarity
- Doesn't protect against cameras positioned directly above or behind you
- Only protects visual privacy, not electronic surveillance
