Defending digital rights across Europe
About
European Digital Rights (EDRi) is a collective of NGOs, experts, advocates, and academics working to defend and advance digital rights across the continent, promoting a people-centered, democratic society.
Details
EDRi is a network of civil and human rights organisations from across Europe, focusing on defending and advancing digital rights. Key features of our work include mobilising people in a connected world, protecting children whilst upholding confidentiality and security online, and decolonising digital rights to challenge structural causes of oppression. Our technical implementation involves tracking and responding to digital rights news, such as the European Commission's internal security strategy and EU privacy watchdog lawsuits. Specific use cases include protecting human rights and freedoms in the digital age, promoting inclusive digital futures, and advocating for democratic societies. Unique differentiators of EDRi include its 20-year history of building a movement for digital rights and its commitment to challenging oppression and promoting dignity and respect for human rights.
